This glass run channel kit is designed to replace worn or damaged rear gate channels on 1987–1996 Ford Bronco trucks. It secures the rear window, reduces wind noise and water intrusion, and restores smooth glass operation for improved weather sealing and reduced vibration. Constructed from durable automotive-grade rubber with a reinforced core, the kit provides long-lasting performance and is straightforward to install during a restoration or maintenance job.
Features:
- Fits 1987-1996 Ford Bronco rear gate (pair).
- Made from durable automotive-grade rubber with a reinforced fabric core for strength and longevity.
- Secures rear glass, reduces rattle, and helps prevent water and wind intrusion.
- Direct replacement design for accurate fit and restored glass alignment.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools — ideal for restoration and maintenance projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes (pair)
Instructions:
- Work in a clean, well-lit area and lower the rear glass slightly (if applicable) to access the channel path.
- Remove any trim or fasteners that obstruct access to the old channels using a trim tool or screwdriver.
- Carefully pull out the old glass run channels; use a utility knife or razor blade to cut away stubborn sections and pliers for gripping if needed.
- Thoroughly clean the channel mounting area and glass edges with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and debris.
- Test-fit the new channels along the glass and gate to confirm orientation and alignment before final installation.
- Apply a light lubricant (silicone spray or soapy water) inside the new channels to ease glass insertion and protect the rubber.
- Slide the new channels into place, starting at one end and working along the full length. Use a heat gun on low to soften stiff rubber if necessary for a snug fit.
- Reinsert the glass slowly into the new channels, checking alignment and ensuring the glass seats evenly without binding.
- Reinstall any trim or fasteners removed earlier and cycle the glass to verify smooth operation and a proper seal.
- Inspect for gaps and trim any excess material if present. Allow any lubricants to dry and perform a water test to confirm the seal.
