The Precision Gas Tank Grommet BDP 2110 57 is a fuel-resistant rubber sealing grommet engineered to secure fuel lines and sending units to the gas tank while preventing leaks and reducing vibration. Designed as a direct-fit replacement for the BDP 2110 57 application, this grommet restores a reliable, durable seal for fuel system repairs and restorations. Built from chemical- and heat-resistant elastomer, it offers long-lasting performance and simple installation for professional mechanics and DIY restorers alike.
Features:
- Made to match the BDP 2110 57 grommet application for compatible gas tanks and fuel sending units.
- Constructed from fuel-resistant elastomer (EPDM/neoprene-style) for chemical and heat resistance.
- Provides a secure, leak-resistant seal for fuel lines and sending units to prevent fuel seepage.
- Reduces vibration and rattling where fuel lines pass through the tank, improving NVH.
- Direct replacement design for straightforward restoration or maintenance of the fuel system.
- Durable construction resists degradation from gasoline, ethanol blends, and engine bay heat.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Work in a well-ventilated area and disconnect the vehicle battery to reduce ignition risk.
- Relieve fuel system pressure and either drain or work with a low fuel level; capture any fuel in a drain pan.
- Raise and securely support the vehicle if tank access requires it, or remove access panel/bed for trucks per vehicle service manual.
- Disconnect fuel lines and electrical connectors from the sending unit or tank fitting; label connectors to aid reassembly.
- Remove the old grommet by carefully prying or pulling it free from the tank flange; inspect the flange for nicks, debris, or corrosion and clean thoroughly.
- Lubricate the new grommet lightly with a small amount of clean fuel-resistant oil or soapy water to ease installation (avoid petroleum-based lubricants).
- Seat the new grommet evenly into the tank opening, ensuring it sits flush with the flange and forms a continuous seal.
- Reinstall the sending unit or fuel line through the grommet, align any tabs or locator features, and secure per the original hardware and torque specs.
- Reconnect fuel lines and electrical connections, lower the vehicle, and reconnect the battery.
- Start the vehicle and inspect carefully for leaks while the engine runs and under light pressure; recheck after a short test drive.
