Instructions:
- Remove the door or vent panel as needed to access the window channel and lower/raise the glass to a position where the lockstrip can be removed and installed safely.
- Carefully lower the glass into the channel and support it so it won’t shift during work. If needed, remove the glass from the door following vehicle-specific procedures.
- Cut and peel out the old lockstrip: score any adhesive and pry the old strip free with a trim tool and pliers. Remove all old adhesive, rust flakes, and debris from the glass channel.
- Clean the channel thoroughly with solvent and dry. Inspect the channel for damage and treat any rust or rough spots before installation.
- Measure the new WLS 900 against the channel and trim to the correct length with hacksaw or metal snips. File any sharp edges.
- Position the new lockstrip onto the glass or into the channel according to application: slide the strip into the glass channel or press it into the rubber weatherstrip until fully seated. Use a rubber mallet gently if needed to work it into place.
- If the application calls for adhesive or clips, apply as recommended for your vehicle to secure the strip. Reinstall the glass into the door and verify smooth operation.
- Reassemble the door or vent panel and test the window for correct alignment, smooth travel, and a watertight seal.
