Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and protect painted surfaces with a cloth or tape where tools will contact trim.
- Carefully pry up the windshield molding using a plastic trim tool to avoid damaging the paint or glass. Work slowly along the edge until the molding is loose.
- Remove any remaining old clips from the body channel and from the molding. Use needle-nose pliers if clips are stubborn, taking care not to bend the molding.
- Clean the molding channel and surrounding area with isopropyl alcohol and a clean rag to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and old sealant.
- Test-fit the new clips by aligning them with the original clip locations. Note orientation — the wider flange typically faces outward toward the molding.
- If installing clips onto the molding, press each clip into the molding groove until it snaps into place. If clips install to the body first, push them into the body holes until seated.
- Apply a light mist of soapy water to the molding edge (optional) to ease reinstallation. Align the molding over the windshield edge and press it firmly so the clips engage and snap into the body.
- Work along the full length of the molding, checking that each clip has fully engaged and the molding sits flush. Re-check for gaps, and trim or reposition any misaligned areas.
- After installation, visually inspect for proper fit and test for wind noise at low speed. Allow any soapy residue to dry, and re-tighten any adjacent trim if needed.
