Direct-fit left or right glass run channel for 1976-1978 Nissan 280Z designed to guide and seal the door glass. This OE-style replacement secures the window, protects interior trim from wear, reduces wind noise and water intrusion, and helps align the glass for smooth operation. Constructed from durable rubber with corrosion-resistant reinforcement, it restores proper window function and provides long-lasting reliability with straightforward installation.
Features:
  • Fits 1976-1978 Nissan 280Z (left or right hand applications).
  • Made from durable rubber with corrosion-resistant reinforcement for long life.
  • Guides and seals the door glass to reduce wind noise and prevent water entry.
  • Restores proper glass alignment and smooth window operation.
  • Direct replacement for restoration or repair projects — no modification required.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips and flat-head screwdrivers
  • Trim removal tool or panel popper
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Masking tape
  • Rubber lubricant or soapy water
  • Shop rags
Instructions:
  1. Lower the window to a position where the run channel can be accessed (usually partially down).
  2. Remove the door trim panel: detach screws, pry out clips with a trim tool, and disconnect any electrical connectors or door handle linkages as needed.
  3. Remove any inner weatherstrip or sash pieces that block access to the channel. Use masking tape to hold the glass in place if necessary.
  4. Carefully pull or pry out the old glass run channel from the door frame. Note fastener locations and retain any clips or hardware to reuse if in good condition.
  5. Clean the channel area and track inside the door of dirt, old adhesive and debris. Wipe dry with a shop rag.
  6. Lightly lubricate the new run channel with rubber-safe lubricant or soapy water to aid installation and glass movement.
  7. Position the new run channel into the door frame, aligning it with any factory clips or screw holes. Work it into place evenly along its length.
  8. Lower the glass into the new channel, confirm smooth travel and proper alignment, and adjust as needed.
  9. Reinstall any removed sash pieces, weatherstrip, and the door panel. Reconnect linkages and electrical connectors.
  10. Test the window operation several times to ensure the seal is correct and there is no binding before finishing.
