The Precision Rear Window Weatherstrip Seal WBL DB1015 (without trim groove) is a durable, direct-fit replacement seal designed to secure and weatherproof the rear window opening. Engineered from long-lasting EPDM rubber, this profile provides a tight barrier against water intrusion, wind noise, and dust while resisting UV degradation and temperature-related hardening. It restores proper sealing performance for vehicles that require the WBL DB1015 profile, improves cabin comfort, and simplifies restoration or maintenance projects with an easy, reliable installation.
Features:
- Profile: WBL DB1015 rear window seal (without trim groove) — direct-fit for applications using this specific profile.
- Constructed from durable EPDM rubber for long-term resistance to UV, ozone, and temperature extremes.
- Seals against water, wind, and road noise to protect interior trim and electronics from moisture damage.
- No trim groove design fits openings where exterior trim is separate or not used.
- OEM-style replacement for restoring factory fit and finish during maintenance or restoration.
- Flexible at low temperatures and pliable for a secure, even seal during installation.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Prepare vehicle and workspace: park on a level surface and protect painted surfaces with masking tape where the seal will pass.
- Remove the old weatherstrip: gently pry out the existing seal using a plastic trim tool; cut into sections with a utility knife if necessary for easier removal.
- Clean the mounting channel: remove all old adhesive, dirt, and debris. Wipe the channel with rubbing alcohol and a lint-free cloth and allow it to dry thoroughly.
- Test-fit the new seal: align the WBL DB1015 seal around the opening to confirm orientation and length. Trim excess if the seal is longer than the opening, cutting squarely.
- Lubricate the seal: lightly spray soapy water or apply a silicone lubricant to the bulb and the mounting lip to aid insertion and avoid pinching.
- Install the seal: start at one corner and press the mounting lip into the channel, working around the window. Use even pressure and a trim tool to seat the seal fully; avoid stretching the material.
- Secure corners and ends: ensure the seal is seated consistently at corners and overlaps (if any). If the seal requires adhesive, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive at the start point and at any areas prone to lift, following the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Final check and curing: inspect the entire perimeter for gaps or pinched areas. Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low to warm the rubber slightly if needed for improved conformity (do not overheat). Allow any adhesive to cure per product directions before driving or exposing to heavy moisture.
- Clean up: wipe away any excess lubricant or adhesive and reinstall any trim or molding removed during the process.
