Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, disconnect the battery if working near powered components, and remove the interior door trim to access the hinge/latch area.
- Spray mounting fasteners with penetrating oil and remove the fasteners securing the old door hardware (hinges, pins, bushings or brackets) while supporting the door to prevent sudden movement.
- Inspect mounting surfaces and mating components for damage or excessive wear; clean mating surfaces and replace any degraded fasteners or shims as needed.
- Transfer any required bushings, pins, or spacers from the old hardware to the new kit if the kit does not include them; otherwise use the supplied components.
- Position the new hardware in place and loosely install fasteners to allow adjustment. Reattach the door and test alignment by gently closing it several times.
- With the door held in the optimal aligned position, tighten fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended torque specs. If torque specs are unavailable, tighten evenly and check operation frequently to avoid overloading fasteners.
- Recheck door gaps, latch engagement, and trim seal contact. Make final adjustments to hinge or striker position if necessary, then reinstall door panel and any removed components.
