1972-1978 Toyota Pickup Windshield Weatherstrip Seal (WBL 274) without a trim groove is a direct-fit replacement designed to restore the windshield-to-body seal. It secures and cushions the windshield, prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and dust, and resists UV and ozone for long-lasting performance. Made from durable EPDM rubber and engineered for accurate OE-style fitment, this weatherstrip is ideal for restoration or routine maintenance and installs with basic hand tools.
Features:
- Fits 1972-1978 Toyota Pickup (Hilux) models — direct-fit windshield weatherstrip WBL 274.
- Manufactured from durable EPDM rubber for UV, ozone, and temperature resistance.
- Designed without a trim groove to fit windshields that use no metal molding or bezel.
- Seals against water, wind noise, and dust while cushioning the windshield glass.
- Straightforward installation for restoration and replacement applications; no special skills required.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and protect paint with fender covers. Remove windshield trim or molding if present using a plastic trim tool and a screwdriver as needed.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip. Cut sections with a utility knife if necessary and vacuum debris from the pinchweld channel.
- Clean the pinchweld channel and glass edges thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt, and oils. Allow to dry.
- Dry-fit the new seal (WBL 274) around the windshield opening to verify orientation and fit. Note the top center mark if present.
- Lightly spray soapy water on the channel and the weatherstrip bead to aid installation. Starting at the top center, press the seal into the pinchweld channel working toward each corner. Avoid stretching the seal.
- Seat the seal fully by pushing the bulb and flange into the channel; use a plastic trim tool to tuck in tight spots. Use masking tape temporarily to hold the seal in place if needed.
- If the pinchweld or seal requires adhesive, apply a thin bead of recommended weatherstrip adhesive to the channel per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions and re-seat the seal.
- Reinstall any windshield trim or molding if applicable. Allow any adhesive to cure per product instructions before driving. Check for even seating and test for leaks after installation.
