Instructions:
- Open the trunk and remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it free from the channel; use a trim tool or screwdriver to gently pry if required.
- Scrape away old adhesive or residue and clean the mounting surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an adhesive cleaner; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the TS 121 SA around the trunk opening to verify orientation and length; trim excess if necessary, leaving a small overlap for final seating.
- If your application requires adhesive, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel following the adhesive manufacturer’s directions; some seals are push-on and do not require adhesive.
- Spray the mating surface or the seal lightly with soapy water to aid installation (helps position bulb-style seals more easily).
- Starting at the hinge side, press the seal into the channel, working around the trunk and ensuring the seal seats fully and uniformly; use firm, even pressure.
- Trim any excess material and smooth joints to ensure a continuous seal. Wipe away any excess adhesive immediately.
- Allow adhesive to cure as recommended (typically 30 minutes to several hours) before closing the trunk. After curing, inspect for even contact and test for leaks with a gentle water spray if desired.
