Instructions:
- Measure the flange or channel length where the seal will be applied and add any overlap required for corners or ends.
- Clean the U-channel or flange thoroughly with rubbing alcohol to remove dirt, grease and old adhesive; allow to dry.
- Cut the bulb seal to length using a utility knife or heavy-duty scissors. For a clean edge, make a straight, deliberate cut.
- If desired, apply a small amount of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the inside of the U-seal ends for added retention (optional).
- Lightly wet the channel or the inside of the seal with soapy water or spray a thin film of silicone lubricant to ease installation.
- Align the seal with the edge of the channel and press the rubber-covered wire core onto the flange, working along the length and pressing firmly so the wire seats inside the U-channel.
- Avoid stretching the seal during installation to prevent shrinking when released; fit it at its natural length.
- Trim and tuck ends neatly at corners or butt-join sections. Use clamps or masking tape while adhesive sets if you used glue.
- Inspect the installed seal for uniform compression and gaps. Close the door/hood/trunk to verify proper sealing and adjust as needed.
