Universal push-on bulb seal with a rubber-covered wire core (UWS 139-25) designed to provide a secure, weather-resistant edge seal for most cars, trucks and SUVs. The U-channel grips sheet metal, glass channels, doors, trunks and hoods to block water, dust and road noise while protecting exposed edges from chips and wear. The rubber-covered wire core gives a firm, long-lasting hold yet remains flexible enough to conform to contours, making it ideal for restoration and replacement projects.
Features:
- Universal fit for most cars, trucks and SUVs; works on doors, trunks, hoods, windows and sheet-metal edges.
- Push-on U‑channel with rubber-covered wire core for a tight, secure grip.
- Seals against water, dust and road noise while protecting vulnerable edges from damage.
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber covering resists cracking and UV deterioration.
- Easy to trim to length and install for quick restoration or maintenance.
- Flexible design reduces vibration and improves long-term fitment.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 10-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Measure the length of the edge or channel to be sealed and mark the seal for cutting.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol; remove rust, old adhesive and debris.
- Cut the bulb seal to length using a utility knife or heavy-duty scissors; if cutting through the internal wire is needed, use wire cutters or a hacksaw.
- Test-fit the seal by sliding the U-channel over the edge; confirm orientation and fit before final installation.
- Push the U-channel onto the edge starting at one end; work along the length, pressing the rubber over the flange. Use a rubber mallet or gloved hand to seat it fully if necessary.
- If the fit is tight, warm the rubber with a heat gun or hair dryer to increase flexibility, then continue seating the seal.
- For permanent installations or high-stress areas, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive inside the channel before seating.
- Trim any excess, install end caps or finish trim, and recheck the seal for continuous contact along the entire edge.
