Instructions:
- Measure the length of edge or trim run and add a small allowance for trimming.
- Cut the U-channel to length with a utility knife or heavy-duty scissors; score and bend if needed for a clean cut.
- Clean the mounting edge thoroughly—remove rust, paint flakes, grease, and debris for best grip.
- Apply a little soapy water or a dedicated rubber lubricant to the panel edge to ease initial installation (avoid petroleum-based products).
- Align one end of the U-channel with the panel edge and press the wire-core skirt onto the edge, seating it firmly with your fingers.
- Work along the length, pushing the channel onto the edge. Use a rubber roller or mallet (with a wood block if needed) to fully seat the PVC over the edge without deforming it.
- Trim any excess material for a neat finish and fold or trim corners as required for tight turns.
- If desired, secure the ends with a small dab of weatherproof adhesive or use mechanical fasteners/clips where extra retention is required.
