Precision Vent Glass Weatherstrip Seal Kit VWK 3110 72 is a left and right 2-piece kit engineered to restore a watertight, draft-free seal around vent (quarter) windows. Designed for 1972 Volkswagen vehicles with 2-piece vent glass, this kit prevents water intrusion, reduces wind noise and vibration, and restores proper fit and appearance. Molded from high-quality, weather-resistant rubber, the seals resist UV, ozone and temperature extremes for long-lasting performance. An OEM-style replacement, the kit simplifies restoration and maintenance projects by providing the exact left and right pieces needed to secure and protect the vent glass.
Features:
- Fits 1972 Volkswagen vehicles equipped with 2-piece vent (vent) glass — left and right 2-piece kit.
- High-quality weather-resistant rubber construction for long service life and UV/ozone resistance.
- Seals vent glass to prevent water leaks, drafts and interior damage.
- Reduces wind noise and vibration for a quieter ride.
- OEM-style fit restores original appearance and function during restorations or repairs.
- Easy to install with basic hand tools; sold as complete left/right set.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the vent window assembly: open vent, remove pivot screws or hinge hardware and lift the vent out.
- Remove the old weatherstrip by pulling it out of the channel; use a trim tool or screwdriver to ease stubborn sections.
- Clean the vent frame and channel thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove old adhesive, dirt and residue.
- Test-fit the new seal pieces to confirm left and right orientation and fit before final installation.
- Apply a thin coat of soapy water or silicone lubricant to the seal to ease installation. Use weatherstrip adhesive sparingly only if the seal is loose or the channel is worn.
- Press the new weatherstrip into the channel, working from one end to the other and ensuring the seal seats fully and evenly.
- Reinstall the vent window assembly, aligning pivot points and tightening screws to secure the vent. Check movement to ensure it opens and closes smoothly without pinching the seal.
- Inspect the seal for gaps and perform a water test or visual check. If adhesive was used, allow recommended cure time before use. Adjust as needed for a uniform, leak-free fit.
