Premium replacement bucket seat foam designed to restore original comfort, support, and profile to classic GM front bucket seats. Engineered to match OEM contours for a precise fit in 1960–1966 GM cars, this high-density foam replaces aged, sagging cushions to improve driver/passenger comfort and safety. Ideal for restorations and reupholstery projects, the foam provides long-lasting resilience, resists compression, and simplifies reinstalling seat covers for a factory-like finish.
Features:
- Fitment: Designed for 1960–1966 GM cars with front bucket seats (Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick and other GM models of the era).
- High-density foam maintains shape and support for improved comfort and posture.
- Engineered to match original seat contours for an accurate, OEM-style fit.
- Durable construction resists long-term sagging and compression.
- Simplifies reupholstery: pre-shaped for easier cover installation and consistent results.
- Ideal for restoration projects and replacement of worn or deteriorated original foam.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 1–2 hours
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the battery if seats have electrical components, and move the seat to an accessible work area.
- Remove the seat from the vehicle using the appropriate sockets/wrenches and set it on a clean workbench.
- Carefully remove the seat cover and trim components — note or photograph clip/hog ring locations for reassembly.
- Detach old foam from the seat pan and backing; remove any staples, hog rings, and debris, and vacuum the seat frame thoroughly.
- Test-fit the new foam onto the seat pan to confirm alignment with original contours; trim small areas if required for perfect fit.
- Apply an even coat of upholstery-grade spray adhesive to the seat pan and matching surface of the foam (follow adhesive manufacturer instructions).
- Press the foam into place, ensuring full contact and correct positioning; allow adhesive to cure as recommended.
- Reinstall the seat cover over the new foam, securing it with hog rings, clips, or staples in the original locations. Replace trim pieces.
- Reinstall the seat into the vehicle, reconnect any electrical connectors, and test seat adjustment mechanisms for proper operation.
