A two-piece replacement foam set engineered to restore original shape, support and comfort to factory-style bucket seats on 1960–1966 GM passenger cars. The high-density foam cushions sagging seats, reduces vibration and provides long-lasting structural support for upholstery during restoration or routine repairs. Durable, resilient and easy to trim, this foam set helps ensure a correct fit under new or existing covers for a professional finished look.
Features:
  • Fits 1960–1966 GM passenger car bucket seats (2-piece set).
  • High-density polyurethane foam replicates original seat profile and support.
  • Restores comfort, reduces sagging and vibration for a like-new ride.
  • Direct replacement ideal for restorations, reupholstery projects, or repairing worn seats.
  • Easy to trim and shape with common tools; moisture- and rot-resistant for long service life.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 2–4 hours total (both seats, depending on experience and upholstery removal)
Suggested Tools:
  • Socket set and wrenches
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Hog ring pliers and hog rings
  • Utility knife or sharp trimming knife
  • Spray adhesive (foam-to-foam/foam-to-cover contact adhesive)
  • Marker or chalk
  • Clean rags and rubbing alcohol
  • Protective gloves and eye protection
Instructions:
  1. Remove the seat from the vehicle following factory procedures and place on a clean work surface.
  2. Carefully remove the upholstery and retaining hardware (hog rings, clips, zippers). Photograph or note the arrangement to aid reassembly.
  3. Remove the old foam and clean the seat pan and cover interior; remove rust, debris and adhesive residue.
  4. Test-fit the new foam pieces to the seat pan and back frame, aligning contours and mounting points. Mark any areas that need trimming.
  5. Trim excess foam slowly with a utility knife, following the original foam profile. Take small cuts and re-check fit frequently.
  6. Apply contact adhesive per manufacturer instructions to mating surfaces where required; allow tack time, then press foam firmly into place.
  7. Reinstall the upholstery, securing with hog rings, clips or original fasteners. Ensure the cover is smooth and properly seated over edges and seams.
  8. Reinstall the seat into the vehicle, reconnect any electrical components, and verify fit, comfort and adjustability before final use.
