Instructions:
- Safety first: park on level surface, disconnect battery, support vehicle securely on jack stands and remove the rear wheel and any interior trim or panels obstructing access.
- Inspect and mark the damaged or rusted area; identify spot weld locations and any adjoining panels that may need removal or support.
- Use a spot-weld cutter or drill to remove factory spot welds, and an angle grinder to cut away the corroded section of the old inner wheelhouse. Preserve adjacent structure where possible.
- Test-fit the replacement inner wheelhouse, trimming as necessary for precise alignment with existing flange locations and body gaps.
- Prepare mating surfaces by cleaning to bare metal, removing scale and rust, and treating with a rust inhibitor to ensure a long-lasting bond.
- Clamp the new panel in place and tack-weld at multiple points to verify fit and alignment. Check wheel clearance and panel gaps before final welding.
- Finish weld the perimeter using short stitch welds or continuous welds as appropriate for strength and to replicate factory seams. Avoid excessive heat build-up to prevent warping.
