This clutch rod firewall boot is a direct-fit replacement designed for 1967-1969 Camaro and Firebird models and 1969-1975 Nova vehicles. It seals the clutch rod where it passes through the firewall to block dust, water, exhaust fumes and engine bay contaminants while reducing vibration and pedal rattle. Made from durable, heat- and oil-resistant rubber, the boot restores a factory appearance and function, improving cabin comfort and protecting the clutch linkage from premature wear. Simple, reliable and engineered for long-term service on classic GM cars.
Features:
  • Fits 1967-1969 Camaro & Firebird and 1969-1975 Nova models.
  • High-quality rubber construction resists heat, oil and road grime.
  • Seals the clutch rod at the firewall to prevent fumes, water and dirt entry.
  • Reduces vibration and pedal rattle for smoother clutch operation.
  • OEM-style fit and form for easy restoration or replacement.
  • Push-in design for quick installation without cutting or modification.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Socket or wrench set (if removing trim or pedals)
  • Clean rag
  • Silicone spray or mild lubricant
  • Safety gloves
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, set parking brake and disconnect negative battery terminal if working near wiring.
  2. Access the clutch rod area from the engine bay or inside the cabin; remove any trim or insulation obstructing the firewall opening.
  3. If an old boot is present, use a flathead screwdriver or pliers to carefully remove retaining clips and pull the old boot off the rod.
  4. Clean the firewall opening and rod with a rag; remove debris, grease and rust to ensure a tight seal.
  5. Apply a light coat of silicone spray or mild lubricant to the clutch rod and boot lip to ease installation.
  6. Slide the new boot onto the clutch rod, aligning it with the firewall hole. Push the boot flange fully into the firewall opening until seated.
  7. Reinstall any retaining clips or trim removed earlier and ensure the boot is snug with no pinched material.
  8. Cycle the clutch pedal several times to confirm smooth movement and that the boot stays in place. Reconnect the battery if disconnected and finish reassembling any interior pieces.
