Direct-fit power window relay designed for 1967–1972 GM cars. This relay replaces worn or failing factory units to restore consistent, reliable power window operation, reduce motor strain, and protect switching circuits from overheating. Built with heavy-duty automotive-grade components and a sealed housing, it offers long-term durability and dependable performance in classic car restorations. The unit is engineered for an OEM-style fit and straightforward installation, making it ideal for maintenance, repair, or full restoration projects.
Features:
  • Fits 1967–1972 GM cars (Chevrolet, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Cadillac) using the factory power window relay configuration.
  • Heavy-duty automotive-grade internal components for long service life and reliable switching under load.
  • Sealed, corrosion-resistant housing protects electrical contacts from moisture and road contaminants.
  • Plug-and-play design mimics OEM fit and terminal layout to simplify replacement without rewiring.
  • Reduces motor heat and wear by ensuring proper relay operation and preventing intermittent contact.
  • Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance to return power windows to factory performance.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Socket set or nut driver
  • Multimeter (optional, for testing)
  • Wire strippers/crimper (if repairs are needed)
  • Electrical tape or heat-shrink
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Locate the existing power window relay or access point (commonly under the dash, behind the glove box, or in a kick panel).
  3. Remove any trim or panels necessary to access the relay socket using trim tools or screwdrivers.
  4. Visually inspect the socket and wiring for damage. Test the relay socket with a multimeter if desired.
  5. Pull the old relay straight out of its socket. If wiring repairs are required, cut back damaged wire and splice with proper connectors.
  6. Align the replacement relay terminals with the socket and press the relay firmly into place until seated.
  7. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and test all power windows for correct operation (up/down, auto functions if applicable).
  8. Reinstall any trim or panels removed during access and verify nothing interferes with window movement.
