Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels.
- Raise the front of the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands placed under proper lift points.
- Support the axle or control arm with a secondary jack to relieve tension on the leaf spring if necessary.
- Spray penetrating oil on existing fasteners and allow time to soak if removing old hardware.
- Remove the old front leaf spring mounting bolt(s) and any damaged clips or J-nuts.
- Clean mounting surfaces and bolt holes with a wire brush to remove rust and debris.
- Install the new J-nut(s) into the bracket clip area, align the leaf spring eye with the frame bracket, and insert the new bolt(s) through the assembly.
- Hand-start the new nuts/bolts to ensure correct thread engagement, then snug by hand.
- Lower the axle support slightly so the leaf and bracket seat fully, then torque the bolts to the vehicle manufacturer's specified value (consult a factory service manual).
- Double-check hardware is tight and properly seated, lower vehicle from jack stands, and perform a short road test to confirm secure installation.
