These direct-replacement assemblies restore proper door operation, provide a watertight seal at the handle opening, and bring back the correct fit and feel for restoration or maintenance projects. Built for reliability and long-term use, the assemblies offer corrosion-resistant finishes, dependable linkage engagement, and straightforward installation to get your Corvette doors functioning like new.
Features:
  • Fitment: 1969–1982 Chevrolet Corvette (left and right door applications).
  • Includes both left and right door handle assemblies plus matching gaskets for a complete repair.
  • OEM-style fit and function to restore original door operation and alignment.
  • Gaskets provide a reliable seal to help prevent water intrusion and reduce wind noise.
  • Durable metal construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
  • Ideal for restorations, maintenance, or replacing worn or damaged handles.
  • Designed for straightforward installation with commonly available tools.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 1–2 hours per door (experienced tech), 2–4 hours total for most DIYers
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips and flathead screwdrivers
  • Trim panel removal tool or flat pry tool (with cloth to protect trim)
  • Socket set and ratchet (common sizes: 1/4" & 3/8" drives)
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Masking tape
  • Lubricant (white lithium or silicone grease)
  • Shop rags
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the work area and disconnect the vehicle battery (recommended for power-door versions).
  2. Protect painted surfaces with masking tape around the handle area to avoid scratches.
  3. Remove the interior door panel: remove screws, pry off trim clips carefully, and set the panel aside. For manual windows, remove the crank; for power windows, disconnect the switch harness as needed.
  4. Peel back or remove the inner vapor barrier carefully to access the handle linkage and mounting hardware.
  5. Locate and disconnect the door-handle linkage rods by removing retaining clips or fasteners; note rod orientation for reassembly.
  6. Remove the handle mounting nuts/bolts from the inside of the door and take out the old handle and gasket.
  7. Clean the handle mounting surface, removing old gasket material, dirt, and corrosion. Wipe dry.
  8. Place the new gasket in position and seat it evenly against the door skin.
  9. Install the new handle from the exterior, align with mounting holes, and fasten the interior nuts/bolts snugly (do not over-torque).
  10. Reconnect linkage rods to the handle and secure retaining clips; apply a light lubricant to pivot points if desired.
  11. Test handle operation several times to confirm smooth operation, proper latch engagement, and no binding.
  12. Reinstall the vapor barrier and interior door panel, reconnect any electrical connectors, and reattach trim and hardware.
  13. Final check: verify door opens and closes properly, check the exterior seal for correct fit, and adjust if necessary.
