Instructions:
- Work in a well-ventilated area and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent sparks.
- Safely drain remaining fuel from the tank into an approved container and relieve system pressure.
- Raise and support the vehicle securely on jack stands to access the fuel tank.
- Support the tank with a floor jack or suitable support and remove or loosen the retaining straps/bolts.
- Disconnect the filler neck, vent hoses, fuel supply/return lines, and electrical connector(s) to the sending unit. Cap lines to prevent spills.
- Lower the tank carefully and remove it from the vehicle. Transfer the sending unit or any hardware if required.
- Inspect straps, mounting hardware, and fuel lines; replace any corroded or damaged components.
- Position the new tank and align the pre-formed mounting points with the factory straps. Raise into place and loosely secure straps/bolts.
- Reconnect fuel lines, vent hoses, filler neck, and sending unit electrical connection. Ensure all clamps and fittings are tight and properly seated.
- Tighten strap hardware to specified torque, lower the vehicle, reconnect the battery, add a small amount of fuel, and check for leaks before fully refilling.
- Start the engine and inspect again for leaks and proper fuel delivery. Re-torque hardware after a short test drive if necessary.
