A 14-piece dash pad hardware installation kit designed for 1973–1980 Chevy trucks that restores secure, factory-fit mounting for your dashboard pad. The kit supplies corrosion-resistant fasteners and clips to replace worn or missing hardware, eliminating rattles and improving fitment. Durable plated metal components resist rust and provide long-lasting reliability, while the straightforward design makes it suitable for DIY restorations or professional re-installations.
Features:
  • Fits 1973–1980 Chevy trucks (dash pad application).
  • Complete 14-piece kit with all necessary clips, screws and fasteners for dash pad reinstallation.
  • Corrosion-resistant plated metal construction for long-term durability and rust protection.
  • Prevents dash pad movement and reduces rattles for a solid, factory-like fit.
  • OEM-style replacement hardware restores original appearance and function.
  • Easy to use — ideal for DIY restoration or professional dash rebuilds.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flathead screwdriver or trim tool
  • Ratchet and 7/16" socket (or wrench set)
  • Pliers
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Optional: thread locker (blue)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, disconnect the battery if working near electrical components, and remove any trim pieces or instrument cluster components that obstruct dash pad removal.
  2. Carefully remove the old dash pad by loosening existing fasteners and gently prying clips free with a trim tool or flathead screwdriver. Keep track of any reusable parts.
  3. Inspect the dash surface and pad mounting flange. Clean mounting areas of old adhesive, rust, and debris so fasteners seat properly.
  4. Lay out the 14-piece hardware and identify each clip, screw, and nut. Compare to the old hardware to confirm fit and orientation.
  5. Attach clips to the dash pad mounting flange where original clips were located. Some clips snap onto the flange; others may require a screw or nut — test-fit before final assembly.
  6. Position the dash pad on the dash and align all mounting locations. With one person holding the pad in place, insert screws or fasteners through the dash into the clips and loosely start each fastener to ensure alignment.
  7. Tighten fasteners evenly, alternating across the pad to pull it into correct position. Avoid over-tightening which can deform the pad or strip threads; use thread locker on metal-to-metal fasteners if desired.
  8. Reinstall any trim, bezels, and the instrument cluster removed earlier. Reconnect the battery and verify the dash pad is secure and free of rattles by pressing and listening along the perimeter.
  9. Perform a final inspection and adjust any fasteners as needed to achieve a uniform, factory-fit appearance. Dispose of old corroded hardware properly.
