Direct-fit right-hand inner rear wheel arch designed for 1988–1998 Chevy and GMC C/K Pickup Fleetside models. This stamped-steel inner wheelhouse replaces corroded or damaged factory panels to restore structural integrity, protect the bed and suspension area from road moisture and debris, and provide a proper mating surface for outer panels. Built to OEM contours for reliable alignment and consistent panel gaps, the panel is durable, corrosion-resistant, and intended for restoration or collision repair where a long-lasting, factory-correct repair is required. Installation is straightforward for a competent metalworker and results in a renewed, secure wheelhouse that helps prevent future rust and body deterioration.
Features:
  • Fits 1988–1998 Chevy and GMC C/K Pickup Fleetside models — right hand (passenger side) inner rear wheel arch.
  • Stamped heavy-gauge steel formed to factory contours for accurate fit and alignment.
  • Replaces rusted or damaged inner wheelhouse to restore structural support and panel geometry.
  • Helps prevent moisture and road debris intrusion that leads to corrosion and body damage.
  • Suitable for restoration, collision repair, or preventative replacement; designed for welding-in installation.
  • Durable, reliable construction that offers long-term service when correctly installed and sealed.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 2-4 hours (typical, depending on rust extent and skill level)
Suggested Tools:
  • Angle grinder with cutoff and flap discs
  • Spot-weld cutter or drill with carbide bits
  • MIG welder (or alternate welding equipment)
  • Clamps and/or locking pliers
  • Hammer and dolly
  • Seam sealer and applicator
  • Rust inhibitor/etch primer and paint
  • Body filler (optional) and sanding supplies
  • Safety gear (gloves, eye protection, respirator)
Instructions:
  1. Prepare vehicle: park on level surface, disconnect battery, remove wheel and any trim or liners obstructing access to the inner wheel arch.
  2. Assess and mark: inspect surrounding metal for rust or damage and mark cut lines to fully remove affected areas while preserving good metal.
  3. Remove old panel: use a spot-weld cutter or drill to remove factory welds and an angle grinder to cut away the damaged section; clean and prepare mating surfaces.
  4. Test-fit the new panel: trim the replacement as needed for exact fit, ensuring contours and mounting points align with adjacent panels.
  5. Clamp and tack-weld: clamp the panel in place and tack-weld at multiple points to check fit and gaps; adjust as necessary for proper alignment.
  6. Finish welding: complete welds using short stitch or plug welds to minimize warpage; grind welds smooth where required.
  7. Protect seams: apply seam sealer to welded joins, coat exposed metal with rust inhibitor or primer, then prime and paint to match vehicle.
  8. Reassemble: reinstall any removed liners, trim, and the wheel; reconnect battery and perform a final inspection for fit and sealing.
  9. Post-install check: inspect for leaks or gaps after test drive and touch up sealant or paint as needed to ensure long-term protection.
