Front outer right-hand tie rod end engineered as a direct-fit replacement for 1948–1977 Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, and International trucks and cars. This vital steering component connects the steering linkage to the wheel hub, ensuring precise steering response and safe vehicle control. Built to restore factory steering geometry, it resists wear and provides reliable operation under road shock and loads. Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance, this tie rod end improves handling, reduces play in the steering, and helps prevent premature tire wear.
Features:
  • Fitment: Direct-fit front outer right-hand tie rod end for 1948–1977 Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, and International vehicles.
  • High-strength steel construction for long-term durability under road and load stresses.
  • Precision ball stud and tapered shank ensure correct steering geometry and snug fit.
  • Sealed joint and protective boot reduce contamination and extend service life.
  • Restoration-ready replacement to eliminate steering play and improve vehicle handling.
  • Easy-to-install design compatible with stock mounting locations and hardware.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-90 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Jack and jack stands
  • Lug wrench
  • Wrenches and sockets (open-end and boxed)
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Torque wrench
  • Pliers
  • Hammer
  • Grease (if applicable)
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake and loosen lug nuts before lifting.
  2. Raise the vehicle and secure with jack stands. Remove the wheel to access the tie rod end.
  3. Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod and back it off to allow removal of the outer tie rod end.
  4. Remove cotter pin (if equipped) and loosen the castle nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
  5. Use a tie rod end puller or carefully strike the steering knuckle with a hammer to dislodge the ball stud from the taper; avoid damaging surrounding components.
  6. Unthread the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod, counting the number of turns to preserve alignment, or measure the exposed thread length for reference.
  7. Thread the new outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod the same number of turns (or to the measured position) and temporarily tighten the jam nut.
  8. Insert the ball stud into the steering knuckle and torque the castle nut to manufacturer specifications; install a new cotter pin if required.
  9. Tighten the jam nut against the new tie rod end to lock its position.
  10. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque wheel lug nuts to spec.
  11. Have a professional wheel alignment performed to ensure proper steering geometry and even tire wear.
