Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance, this ball joint helps prevent premature tire wear and vibration while offering straightforward installation for mechanics and experienced DIYers.
Features:
  • Fits 1962-1976 Dodge and Plymouth vehicles — front lower, right-hand (passenger side) ball joint.
  • Heavy-duty steel construction with corrosion-resistant finish for durability.
  • Sealed bearing and grease fitting (if applicable) for smooth operation and extended life.
  • Restores steering alignment and reduces play, improving handling and safety.
  • Direct-replacement part for restoration or maintenance — matches OE fit and function.
  • Easy-to-install design compatible with common ball joint press tools and basic shop equipment.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 60-120 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • jack and jack stands
  • wheel chocks
  • lug wrench
  • socket and ratchet set
  • wrenches
  • ball joint separator or pickle fork
  • ball joint press or C-clamp press kit
  • hammer
  • torque wrench
  • needle-nose pliers
  • grease gun (if greaseable)
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, set parking brake, and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
  2. Loosen lug nuts on the front right wheel, then raise the vehicle with a jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel.
  3. Remove cotter pin and castle nut from the outer tie rod/end or ball joint stud if applicable.
  4. Separate the ball joint stud from the control arm using a ball joint separator or pickle fork. Be careful to avoid damage to surrounding components.
  5. Support the lower control arm and remove any bolts or retaining clips securing the ball joint to the control arm.
  6. Use a ball joint press to press out the old ball joint from the control arm housing. Clean the control arm bore of rust and debris before installing the new unit.
  7. Press the new ball joint into the control arm using the press kit, ensuring proper orientation and full seating. Install any retaining rings or snap rings if supplied.
  8. Reconnect the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle/control arm and install the castle nut. Torque to manufacturer specifications and insert a new cotter pin if required.
  9. Reinstall any other components removed and mount the wheel. Lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to specification, and perform a final torque check on the ball joint nut.
  10. If the ball joint is greaseable, apply grease via the fitting until fresh grease appears. After installation, have wheel alignment checked and adjusted as necessary to restore proper steering geometry.
