Front lower ball joint designed for select 1983–1993 Acura and Honda vehicles. This lower front ball joint secures the control arm to the steering knuckle, maintaining proper suspension geometry and smooth steering. Built for durability and reliable road performance, it restores factory steering feel, reduces play and vibration, and helps prevent premature tire wear. Ideal for suspension maintenance and restoration projects, this direct-replacement part simplifies return-to-service with long-lasting, corrosion-resistant construction.
Features:
- Fits select 1983–1993 Acura and Honda models (e.g., Integra, Civic, Accord) — confirm exact vehicle fitment before purchase.
- Heavy-duty steel construction with hardened ball stud for long service life.
- Secures the lower control arm to the steering knuckle to maintain alignment and steering precision.
- Helps reduce vibration, eliminate play, and prevent uneven tire wear.
- Designed as a direct replacement for restoration or routine suspension repairs.
- Greaseable/sealed design options available for easier maintenance and improved longevity.
- Easy-to-follow installation for mechanically inclined DIYers or professional technicians.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, then raise vehicle with a floor jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Apply penetrating oil to the ball joint nut and related fasteners. Remove any cotter pins and retainers from the ball joint stud.
- Support the lower control arm with a jack or stand. Remove the lower ball joint nut and separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or pickle fork.
- Unbolt or press out the old ball joint from the lower control arm per vehicle-specific design (some are riveted, others bolted or pressed). Use a ball joint press to remove if pressed in.
- Prepare the control arm opening (clean and inspect). Press the new ball joint into place using the ball joint press or install with the supplied fasteners, following torque specifications for your vehicle.
- Reinsert the ball joint stud into the steering knuckle, install the nut and torque to the manufacturer’s specification. Install new cotter pin if applicable.
- Reinstall wheel, lower vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification. Test drive at low speed to confirm proper steering and suspension operation, then re-torque hardware if necessary.
- After a short break-in period, check torque on the ball joint nut and wheel lug nuts and inspect for any abnormal wear or noise.
