Front lower ball joint designed for direct-fit replacement on select 1993-2002 Chevrolet, Geo, and Toyota models. This durable suspension component secures the lower control arm to the steering knuckle, allowing controlled pivoting while maintaining proper wheel alignment. Built to restore safe steering and suspension performance, it reduces play, minimizes vibration, and prevents premature tire wear. The part is engineered for reliability and ease of installation, making it ideal for restoration, maintenance, or routine suspension repairs.
Features:
- Fits 1993-2002 Chevrolet, Geo, and Toyota models (front lower, right or left hand application).
- Direct-fit replacement for the front lower ball joint to restore proper steering geometry.
- High-strength materials resist wear and impact for long-lasting performance.
- Secures the lower control arm to the steering knuckle, reducing play and vibration.
- Application suitable for suspension restoration, maintenance, and repair projects.
- Designed for straightforward installation with common automotive tools.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1-2 hours per side
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake, and loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Remove any components blocking access to the lower ball joint (e.g., brake caliper and rotor if necessary) and support the caliper to avoid strain on the brake hose.
- Separate the lower control arm from the steering knuckle by removing the ball joint castle nut and using a ball joint separator or carefully applying impact to free the taper. Remove cotter pin if present.
- If the ball joint is pressed in, position a ball joint press or C-clamp with appropriate adapters and press out the old ball joint. If bolt-in style, remove the retaining bolts or rivets as applicable.
- Install the new ball joint into the control arm using the press or by bolting in per the part style. Ensure the joint is fully seated and oriented correctly for right or left hand application.
- Reattach the steering knuckle to the ball joint stud, install the castle nut, and torque to manufacturer specification. Insert a new cotter pin if required and bend to secure.
- Reassemble any removed components (rotor, caliper), reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
- Perform a test drive and have a professional alignment done to ensure proper steering and tire wear.
