Front lower ball joint designed for 2003–2009 Toyota and Lexus models (front lower, right or left side). This OEM-style replacement secures the control arm to the steering knuckle, maintaining correct suspension geometry and smooth steering response. Built from hardened steel with a corrosion-resistant finish and a sealed bearing, the unit restores factory alignment, reduces play and vibration, and improves tire wear. Ideal for suspension repairs, restoration projects, or routine maintenance where worn or loose ball joints are causing steering looseness, uneven tire wear, or clunking sounds.
Features:
  • Fits 2003–2009 Toyota and Lexus models (front lower, right or left hand)
  • Durable hardened steel construction with corrosion-resistant finish
  • Sealed bearing design for long service life and reduced maintenance
  • Restores proper suspension geometry to reduce vibration and uneven tire wear
  • Direct-fit replacement for straightforward restoration or repair jobs
  • Includes new castle nut and cotter pin where applicable for secure installation
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 60-120 minutes per side
Suggested Tools:
  • Hydraulic jack and jack stands
  • Torque wrench
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Breaker bar
  • Ball joint press or hydraulic press (or appropriate ball joint removal tool)
  • Hammer and punch
  • Pliers (for cotter pin)
  • Pry bar
  • Penetrating oil
  • Rubber mallet
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, engage parking brake, loosen wheel lug nuts slightly.
  2. Raise vehicle with a hydraulic jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
  3. Apply penetrating oil to nuts and bolts on the control arm and tie rod ends to ease removal.
  4. Remove the brake caliper and bracket if necessary and hang it out of the way without stressing the brake hose.
  5. Separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle: remove the cotter pin and castle nut, then use a ball joint separator or a hammer and punch to free the stud from the knuckle.
  6. Support the control arm and remove bolts securing it to the subframe or crossmember. Remove the control arm assembly as needed to gain access to the ball joint.
  7. Press or drive out the old ball joint using a ball joint press or hydraulic press per tool instructions. Clean the control arm bore of rust and debris before installation.
  8. Press the new ball joint into the control arm until fully seated. Verify orientation and seating depth according to the part design.
  9. Reinstall the control arm and torque mounting bolts to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.
  10. Insert the ball joint stud into the steering knuckle, install the supplied castle nut and torque to specification. Install a new cotter pin and bend to secure.
  11. Reinstall the brake components and wheel. Lower the vehicle and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
  12. Perform a test drive and have a professional alignment performed if suspension components were removed or replaced to ensure proper tire wear and handling.
