Front lower ball joint designed for direct fit replacement on 2003–2010 Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn vehicles. This critical suspension component secures the lower control arm to the steering knuckle, allowing smooth pivoting motion while maintaining alignment and steering stability. Manufactured to meet OE fit and function, the unit restores proper suspension geometry, reduces play, and helps prevent uneven tire wear and steering wander. Durable construction and corrosion-resistant finishes provide long service life and reliable performance for restoration or repair projects.
Features:
- Fits 2003-2010 Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn models (front lower, right or left hand application)
- Direct-fit replacement engineered to match original suspension geometry
- High-strength steel ball stud and housing for durability under load
- Corrosion-resistant finish and robust seals to extend service life
- Restores steering precision, reduces play and prevents uneven tire wear
- Pre-greased or serviceable designs available for easier maintenance
- Ideal for collision repair, routine suspension refresh, or preventive maintenance
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1.5-3 hours per side (varies by experience and vehicle condition)
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake and loosen lug nuts slightly.
- Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands; remove the wheel.
- Remove the brake caliper and rotor or move them aside; support the caliper to avoid strain on the brake hose.
- Disconnect any sway bar end links or tie-downs that restrict control arm movement.
- Remove the cotter pin and castle nut (if equipped) from the ball joint stud.
- Separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or pickle fork, taking care not to damage the knuckle.
- Unbolt or press out the old ball joint from the lower control arm using a ball joint press or appropriate removal tool.
- Clean the control arm bore and inspect for damage; apply penetrating oil and remove any corrosion.
- Press the new ball joint into the control arm using a ball joint press, ensuring it is fully seated and oriented correctly.
- Reinstall the ball joint stud into the steering knuckle and tighten the castle nut to the manufacturer’s specified torque; insert a new cotter pin if required.
- Reattach any sway bar links and reinstall the brake rotor and caliper.
- Remount the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to specification.
- Perform a final torque check on suspension fasteners and have wheel alignment checked and adjusted as needed after replacement.
