Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, set parking brake and chock rear wheels.
  2. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, lift vehicle with floor jack and secure on jack stands, then remove the wheel.
  3. Apply penetrating oil to ball joint fasteners and allow to soak if corroded.
  4. Remove any components blocking access (ABS sensor brackets, sway bar link, etc.) as needed to expose the lower ball joint.
  5. Separate the lower ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator (press or pickle fork) and remove the castle nut/fastener.
  6. Unbolt the lower control arm-to-subframe bolts as required to gain clearance, supporting the control arm to avoid sudden movement.
  7. Press out or remove the old ball joint from the control arm using a ball joint press or appropriate tools.
  8. Clean the control arm bore and inspect for damage; replace control arm if worn or cracked.
  9. Press the new ball joint into the control arm until fully seated; install any retaining rings or fasteners per part specification.
  10. Reassemble the lower control arm to the subframe and torque bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
  11. Reconnect the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle, install the nut and torque to spec; install a new cotter pin if required.
  12. Reinstall any removed components, remount the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the lug nuts to specification.
  13. Test drive at low speed to verify proper operation and then have a wheel alignment performed to restore correct steering geometry.
