Front left control arm engineered for 2005–2012 Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with Active Body Control (ABC). This critical suspension component secures the wheel hub to the chassis while preserving proper wheel alignment and maintaining the functionality of the ABC system. Designed as a direct-fit replacement, it restores steering precision, reduces uneven tire wear, and maintains ride stability and comfort. Constructed for durability and reliable performance, this control arm simplifies restoration or maintenance of your Mercedes-Benz suspension system.
Features:
- Fits 2005–2012 Mercedes-Benz models equipped with Active Body Control (front left/driver side).
- Direct-fit replacement for OEM control arm geometry and ABC compatibility.
- High-strength materials resist corrosion and bending for long service life.
- Maintains proper alignment, reduces uneven tire wear, and restores handling.
- Designed to interface with Active Body Control components to preserve ride quality.
- Pre-assembled bushings and ball joint reduce installation time and simplify replacement.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 1.5–3 hours
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level surface, set parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal if instructed by vehicle service procedures.
- Raise the front of the vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands; remove the front left wheel.
- Locate the front left control arm and spray mounting bolts with penetrating oil to ease removal.
- Support the lower control arm with a jack or helper to prevent sudden movement when bolts are removed.
- Remove the fasteners securing the control arm to the chassis and the steering knuckle/ball joint. Use a ball joint separator if necessary.
- Carefully detach any ABC sensors, linkages, or hydraulic lines as required by your specific model (follow manufacturer service manual guidance for ABC components).
- Remove the old control arm and compare to the replacement to verify correct orientation and hardware.
- Install the replacement control arm and loosely install mounting bolts; reconnect ball joint to steering knuckle and any ABC linkages or sensors.
- Lower the suspension enough so the control arm carries weight, then torque all fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle to the ground, and perform a final torque of the wheel lug nuts.
- Have a professional alignment performed after installation to ensure correct toe/camber and restore proper handling.
