Ideal for routine maintenance or restoration projects where original ball joints are worn or damaged.
Features:
- Fitment: 2006–2011 Hyundai & Kia passenger cars and SUVs (verify exact model/year fitment before purchase).
- Direct-fit front lower ball joint for left or right-hand applications.
- Durable steel construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
- Restores secure control-arm-to-knuckle connection, improving steering stability and alignment.
- Helps prevent uneven tire wear and reduces suspension play and vibration.
- Designed for easy bolt-on replacement during routine suspension repair or restoration.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes per side
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, raise vehicle with floor jack and secure on jack stands. Remove the front wheel.
- Spray mounting fasteners with penetrating oil to aid removal.
- Remove any components obstructing access to the lower ball joint (stabilizer link, brake caliper if required—hang caliper to avoid stress on hose).
- Remove the cotter pin and castellated nut (if equipped) from the ball joint stud, then separate the ball joint stud from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator or pickle fork.
- Unbolt the lower control arm or the ball joint mounting bolts per vehicle design and press or drive out the old ball joint using a ball joint press or suitable tool.
- Clean the mounting area, align and install the new ball joint into the lower control arm. Press or bolt the ball joint into place per the part’s orientation.
- Reattach the ball joint stud to the steering knuckle, install the nut and torque to vehicle manufacturer specification. Install a new cotter pin if required.
- Reinstall any removed components (brake caliper, stabilizer link), mount the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to spec.
- Check wheel alignment and suspension for proper operation. It’s recommended to have a professional alignment performed after replacing suspension components.
