This outer left-hand tie rod end is a direct-replacement steering component for 2006–2012 Mercedes‑Benz vehicles that require the specified outer tie rod. It connects the steering rack to the steering knuckle, translating steering input into wheel movement while maintaining proper toe alignment. Manufactured to meet OEM fit and function, the part is corrosion-resistant, preassembled with a protective boot and secure taper for reliable, long-lasting performance. Ideal for routine steering system maintenance, collision repair, or restoration projects where precise steering response and safety are required.
Features:
  • Fits 2006–2012 Mercedes‑Benz vehicles requiring the outer left-hand tie rod end — verify vehicle fitment with your VIN or parts guide.
  • Direct-replacement outer left tie rod end designed to restore proper steering geometry and toe alignment.
  • Durable metal construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
  • Sealed dust boot protects the joint from dirt and moisture to reduce wear.
  • Preassembled design simplifies installation and minimizes prep time.
  • Precision taper and stud for secure fastening and consistent steering response.
  • Restoration-ready part ideal for routine maintenance or accident repairs to improve handling and safety.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30–60 minutes (per side)
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Lug wrench or impact gun
  • Open-end or box wrenches (sizes vary by model)
  • Torque wrench
  • Tie rod end puller or pickle fork
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Hammer
  • Measuring tape or ruler
  • Grease (if applicable)
  • Wheel alignment service equipment or access to alignment shop
Instructions:
  1. Confirm correct part by checking the vehicle’s VIN and comparing with OEM part numbers or fitment guide.
  2. Park on a level surface, engage parking brake and place wheel chocks behind rear wheels.
  3. Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, raise vehicle with a floor jack, and support securely on jack stands.
  4. Remove the front wheel to access the tie rod assembly.
  5. Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod so the outer tie rod can be unscrewed from the inner section.
  6. Remove cotter pin (if present) from the castle nut on the outer tie rod stud, then loosen and remove the nut.
  7. Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using a tie rod end puller or a pickle fork. Take care not to damage surrounding components.
  8. Count the number of turns required to unscrew the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod (or measure thread exposure) to preserve approximate alignment during installation.
  9. Unscrew and remove the old outer tie rod end.
  10. Screw the new outer left-hand tie rod end onto the inner tie rod the same number of turns (or to the same measured position) to approximate original toe settings.
  11. Insert the stud into the steering knuckle, tighten the castle nut to the wheel manufacturer’s specified torque, and install a new cotter pin if required.
  12. Tighten the jam nut against the outer tie rod end to secure the adjustment.
  13. Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, and torque the wheel lug nuts to specification.
  14. Because steering geometry was disturbed, have a professional wheel alignment performed immediately after installation to ensure proper toe/camber settings and safe handling.
