This heavy-duty drag link is a direct-fit steering component for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler models configured for right-hand drive. At 830 mm (33"), it replaces the original drag link to restore correct steering geometry and responsiveness. Designed to secure the steering tie rod and transfer motion from the pitman arm to the steering knuckle, it reduces play and improves handling. Constructed for durability and reliability, this part is ideal for restoration, replacement after wear or collision, and performance upgrades that demand precise alignment.
Features:
- Fits 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler models with right-hand drive configuration (830 mm / 33" length).
- Direct-fit drag link engineered to restore steering geometry and reduce play.
- Durable construction resists bending and wear for long-term reliability.
- Protects steering components and improves on-road handling and control.
- Easy installation for technicians and experienced DIYers; suitable for restoration or replacement projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 45-90 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels.
- Lift front of vehicle with a floor jack and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheels for access if necessary.
- Locate the drag link connecting the pitman arm to the steering knuckle/tie rod end and note alignment/rotation marks or measure length for reference.
- Use a pitman arm puller or tie rod separator to disconnect both ends of the existing drag link. Remove any cotter pins or retaining hardware.
- Compare new drag link length (830 mm / 33") to the old unit to ensure correct fitment and adjust turnbuckles/ends to match measured length if adjustable.
- Install the new drag link, threading ball joints or tie rod ends into place by hand to avoid cross-threading. Reinstall nuts and torque to the manufacturer's specifications.
- If applicable, grease any fittings until fresh grease appears at seals. Install new cotter pins or retainers where required.
- Reinstall wheels, lower the vehicle, and torque wheel lug nuts to spec.
- With vehicle on level ground, verify steering wheel alignment and drag link center-to-center length. Perform a professional wheel alignment after installation to ensure correct steering geometry.
- Test drive at low speed to confirm steering response and absence of unusual noises or binding.
