Outer left-hand tie rod end designed for select 2012–2014 Toyota vehicles. This component secures the steering linkage to the steering knuckle, translating steering column motion into wheel direction while maintaining alignment and stability. Built to resist wear and deliver consistent steering feel, it’s suitable for routine maintenance, suspension repairs, and restoration projects. Durable construction and a sealed joint help protect against road contaminants, offering reliable performance and long service life.
Features:
- Fits select 2012–2014 Toyota vehicles (confirm OEM compatibility for exact models and trim levels).
- Outer left-hand tie rod end that connects the steering rack to the steering knuckle.
- Heavy-duty metal construction for strength and long-lasting durability.
- Sealed ball joint design helps resist dirt and moisture to reduce premature wear.
- Restoration-ready replacement for worn or damaged steering components.
- Straightforward swap-in replacement with standard steering service tools to restore steering precision and safety.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and chock rear wheels.
- Loosen front wheel lug nuts slightly, then raise the vehicle and support with jack stands. Remove the wheel.
- Locate the outer tie rod end at the steering knuckle and apply penetrating oil to the castle nut and threads if needed.
- Mark the position of the outer tie rod on the threaded inner tie rod (count turns or measure length from a reference) to preserve alignment.
- Remove the cotter pin (if present) and loosen the castle nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle but do not fully remove yet.
- Use a tie rod end puller or pickle fork to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle; once separated, remove the castle nut and pull the tie rod end free.
- Loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod and unscrew the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod the number of turns measured earlier.
- Install the new outer left-hand tie rod end by threading it onto the inner tie rod to the previously noted position, then tighten the jam nut to secure.
- Insert the tie rod stud into the steering knuckle, install and torque the castle nut to factory specification, and insert a new cotter pin if applicable.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to specification, and test steering operation.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed after installation to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
