Outer left-hand tie rod end designed to replace worn or damaged steering tie rod ends on compatible 2014–2019 Fiat and Jeep models. This precision component transfers steering input from the inner tie rod to the wheel hub, maintaining accurate toe alignment and safe, responsive handling. Built for durability and reliable performance, it resists wear from road vibration and impacts while offering straightforward installation for routine steering system maintenance or restoration projects.
Features:
- Fits 2014–2019 Fiat and Jeep models (outer left-hand tie rod end).
- Durable metal construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long service life.
- Secures the outer end of the steering linkage to the steering knuckle, preserving alignment.
- Helps reduce vibration and uneven tire wear by restoring proper steering geometry.
- Direct replacement part designed for easy installation during suspension or steering repairs.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 3/5
- Estimated time: 60-120 minutes
Instructions:
- Park on level ground, engage parking brake, and loosen wheel lug nuts slightly.
- Raise vehicle and support securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel to access the tie rod end.
- Locate the outer left tie rod end; remove the cotter pin (if equipped) and loosen the castellated nut securing the tie rod end to the steering knuckle.
- Loosen the jam nut that secures the outer tie rod to the inner tie rod; note or measure the number of exposed threads or record distance from a reference mark to ensure initial alignment.
- Use a tie rod puller or appropriate separator to detach the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. If needed, remove the castellated nut completely after separation.
- Unscrew the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod the same number of turns measured earlier (or until the recorded distance is matched) and remove the old part.
- Thread the new outer tie rod end onto the inner tie rod to the same thread count or measurement used earlier to preserve toe setting.
- Insert the tie rod end stud into the steering knuckle, install and torque the castellated nut to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification, and secure with a new cotter pin if required.
- Tighten the jam nut against the outer tie rod end to lock the adjustment in place. Apply thread locking compound if recommended for your vehicle.
- Reinstall the wheel, lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts to spec, and perform a careful test drive.
- Have a professional wheel alignment performed as soon as possible after installation to ensure precise steering and tire wear prevention.
