It doesn't make sense to trust your prized Chevelles steering to 30-40 year old bolts which you painted to look pretty. Call it simple, inexpensive insurance. NOTE: Some original steering boxes around 1979 started coming from the factory with Metric threads. These bolts are SAE threads and will fit the same SAE threaded factory steering boxes. Correct bolts are not currently available in Metric threads.
