Direct-fit lower control arm bumper designed for 1955-1957 Chevrolet passenger cars (Tri-Five models). This bumper cushions lower control arm travel to prevent metal-to-metal contact, protect suspension components, and restore proper ride height and handling. Molded from high-grade polyurethane for long service life and resistance to oil, grease, and weathering. A durable, reliable replacement that reduces noise and vibration while being straightforward to install — ideal for restorations and routine suspension maintenance.
Features:
  • Fits 1955-1957 Chevrolet passenger cars (Tri-Five models).
  • High-grade polyurethane construction for long-lasting durability and chemical resistance.
  • Limits lower control arm travel to cushion impacts and prevent suspension damage.
  • Reduces noise and vibration from metal-to-metal contact.
  • Direct-fit OEM-style replacement for easy installation during restoration or maintenance.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes per axle
Suggested Tools:
  • Hydraulic jack
  • Jack stands
  • Lug wrench
  • Socket set and ratchet
  • Pry bar
  • Rubber mallet or dead-blow hammer
  • Penetrating lubricant
  • Shop rags
  • Safety glasses
Instructions:
  1. Park on level ground, engage parking brake and chock rear wheels; slightly loosen front wheel lug nuts.
  2. Raise the front of the vehicle and support securely on jack stands. Remove the front wheels.
  3. Support the lower control arm with a jack or jack stand so it is held slightly lower than the frame (relieves pressure on the bumper).
  4. If present, remove any retaining hardware or brackets holding the old bumper. Pry or cut out the old deteriorated bumper as needed, taking care not to damage the mounting bore.
  5. Clean the bumper mounting bore thoroughly with penetrating lubricant and a rag to remove dirt, rust, and debris.
  6. Align the new polyurethane bumper with the mounting bore and press it into place. Use a rubber mallet or dead-blow hammer to seat it fully; ensure correct orientation and full engagement.
  7. Slowly raise the lower control arm back to ride height and verify the bumper is properly seated and captures the control arm travel.
  8. Reinstall the wheels, lower the vehicle, and torque lug nuts to manufacturer specification. Test drive at low speed to confirm proper operation and absence of unusual noise.
