The Precision Door Bumper (BMP 004) is a direct-fit replacement engineered for 2-door coupe body styles. It cushions the door at the jamb/latch interface to prevent metal-on-metal contact, reduce noise and vibration, protect paint and trim, and restore consistent door closure feel. Constructed from a durable rubber compound with a reinforced mounting stud, this bumper provides reliable, long-lasting performance and is ideal for restorations or routine maintenance. Simple installation makes it a practical upgrade for maintaining original fit and function.
Features:
- Fits 2-door coupe body styles only — confirm your specific year, make and model before ordering.
- Durable rubber construction with a reinforced mounting stud for long service life.
- Absorbs impact to prevent door damage, reduce rattles and improve closure feel.
- Easy, direct replacement designed for restoration and maintenance projects.
- Corrosion-resistant components help maintain performance in repeated use.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 1/5
- Estimated time: 10-30 minutes
Instructions:
- Open the door and locate the existing door bumper on the jamb or door edge.
- Remove the old bumper by prying gently with a flathead screwdriver or using needle-nose pliers to pull it free. If threaded, use the appropriate socket to unfasten.
- Clean the mounting area with isopropyl alcohol and a rag to remove dirt, grease, and old adhesive.
- Inspect the mounting hole or boss for damage; repair or replace the mounting clip if needed.
- Position the new BMP 004 bumper into the mounting hole. If push-fit, press firmly until seated; if threaded, thread it in by hand and tighten with a socket to secure.
- Close and open the door several times to verify proper fit, alignment, and closure feel. Adjust or trim if necessary to achieve the desired gap and contact.
- Recheck fastener tightness after a short test drive and make final adjustments if required.
