The Precision Glass Run Channel, 5 foot single length piece 75 1000, is a universal replacement window channel designed to guide and seal door glass, reduce wind noise, and prevent glass vibration and wear. Supplied as a full 5-foot section, it can be trimmed to fit most door openings and restores the proper glass-to-channel interface for smooth up-and-down operation. Made from a durable, weather-resistant rubber compound, this channel is ideal for restorations, repairs, or custom installations where an OEM-style glass run is required. Easy to trim and install, it helps extend the life of the window and improves door sealing and comfort.
Features:
- 5-foot single length—cut-to-fit for many door applications and restorations.
- Durable, weather-resistant rubber compound resists UV, ozone, and temperature cycling.
- Restores proper glass alignment to reduce rattles, wind noise, and water intrusion.
- Trim-to-fit design allows use on a wide range of vehicle doors and glass profiles.
- OEM-style profile for reliable guiding and smooth window operation.
- Simple installation with common hand tools; ideal for restoration and repair projects.
Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30–60 minutes
Instructions:
- Remove the door panel and any inner vapor barrier to access the window run and glass.
- Carefully lower the glass (if possible) to expose the old channel, then remove the old glass run material from the channel slot and door frame.
- Clean the channel area and window edge of old adhesive, debris, and rust; wipe with a mild cleaner and allow to dry.
- Measure the required length on the new 5-foot channel against the door opening; mark the cut line and trim the rubber channel to length with a utility knife or heavy-duty scissors.
- If the channel is stiff from cold, warm it briefly with a heat gun or hair dryer to make installation easier.
- Apply a light coat of silicone lubricant or soapy water to the inside of the channel and the glass edge to help slide the glass into the new run.
- Seat one end of the channel into the door frame or sash groove and work it along the channel slot, pressing the flange into place until the entire piece is seated. For channels that require adhesive, apply recommended adhesive per adhesive manufacturer's instructions before seating.
- Carefully raise and lower the glass to ensure smooth travel and proper alignment; adjust seating as needed.
- Reinstall the vapor barrier and door panel, then test the window operation several times to confirm secure fit and leak/noise reduction.
