- Difficulty: 2/5

Instructions:
- Park on a level surface, shut off the engine, and open the existing gas flap.
- Inspect the existing fasteners and surrounding area. Apply penetrating oil if bolts appear corroded; allow to soak.
- Remove the fasteners securing the old gas flap using the appropriate screwdriver or socket. Keep any reusable hardware.
- Carefully lift off the old flap and hinge assembly. Use a trim pry tool if needed to break any paint adhesion.
- Clean the mounting surface of dirt, rust, and old sealant with a rag and light rust remover if required.
- Position the replacement gas flap over the mounting holes and align it with the filler opening and body contours.
- Install the fasteners by hand to ensure proper thread engagement; then tighten snugly with the screwdriver or socket. Apply anti-seize or thread locker if desired.
- Cycle the flap open and closed several times to confirm smooth operation and proper alignment. Make small fastener adjustments if needed.
- Check the fuel cap seal and filler access to ensure the flap does not interfere with the cap or fuel nozzle.
- Wipe down the area and touch up paint around fastener heads if necessary to prevent corrosion.
