Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and open the door, trunk, or panel where the seal will be replaced.
- Carefully remove the old weatherstrip by prying out the retainer from the trim groove using a trim tool or flat-head screwdriver; remove any clips or fasteners.
- Clean the groove and surrounding surface thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or an appropriate cleaner to remove old adhesive, dirt, and oils. Allow to dry completely.
- Test-fit the new weatherstrip along the groove to confirm correct orientation and length; trim excess if necessary using a utility knife or scissors.
- If the kit requires adhesive, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the groove or back of the seal as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
- Seat the seal into the groove, pressing firmly along its length so the retainer engages fully; use masking tape or clamps to hold corners or seams while adhesive cures if used.
- Trim and tuck corners or joints for a neat finish; ensure consistent compression and that doors/panels close without binding.
- Allow any adhesive to cure per the adhesive instructions before exposing to water or driving. Re-check fit and function and make minor adjustments as needed.
