Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and open all applicable panels (doors, hood, trunk) to access seal channels.
- Remove old weatherstrip: gently pry out retaining beads and any clips using trim tools; if adhesive remains, loosen with adhesive remover and scrape clean.
- Clean mating surfaces thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner; remove all oil, dirt, and old adhesive to ensure proper bonding.
- Test-fit new seal sections along each channel without adhesive to verify correct orientation and length; trim excess with a utility knife if necessary.
- Apply a thin, even bead of automotive weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or to the seal flange per the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
- Press the new weatherstrip into place, seating the retaining bead fully into the channel. Use masking tape to hold sections together where joints meet for a neat seam.
- For tight radii, warm the rubber briefly with a heat gun on low to increase flexibility, then form the seal into the curve.
- Reinstall any clips or trim pieces removed during disassembly; use needle-nose pliers if needed to engage retaining beads.
- Allow adhesive to cure for the recommended time (typically 1–24 hours) before closing doors or driving; remove temporary tape after initial set.
- Inspect all joints and seams for continuous contact and proper compression; perform a water test (hose) to confirm leak-free sealing.
