Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and work in a well-lit, dry area. Wear gloves to protect hands.
- Carefully remove the old beltline molding: remove any visible screws or fasteners, then use a plastic trim tool to pry the molding away from the channel to avoid scratching paint.
- Remove old clips or adhesive residue from the mounting channel. Clean the area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new left and right moldings to confirm orientation and fit. Note the alignment points and any fastener locations.
- If supplied clips are used, install them on the new molding per OEM positions. If adhesive tape is required, apply 3M double-sided automotive tape or adhesive promoter as directed to the molding backing.
- Align the molding at one end and press firmly along the entire length, engaging clips into the channel or seating the adhesive. Use masking tape to hold the molding in place as needed while adhesive sets.
- Reinstall any screws or trim fasteners previously removed. Check for even gaps and proper seating along the beltline.
- Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer recommendations (typically 24 hours) before exposing the area to heavy moisture or driving at high speeds.
