Instructions:
- Open the door and remove the old weatherstrip: carefully pry out any retainers and peel away the old seal noting how it fits into the channel.
- Clean the mounting channel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner to remove dirt, old adhesive, and debris. Allow to dry.
- Test-fit the new seal along the door edge to confirm orientation (left vs right) and trim any excess with scissors or a utility knife for an exact fit.
- If the new seal is a press-in type, align the retainer edge and press firmly into the channel along the entire length. For adhesive-backed seals, apply a thin, even bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel or seal per adhesive instructions.
- Seat the seal fully: press and hold or use masking tape/spring clamps to maintain contact until adhesive cures (if used). Ensure corners and ends are flush and free of gaps.
- Close the door and check for proper fit and sealing. Make minor adjustments as needed to eliminate gaps or binding.
- Allow adhesive to cure per manufacturer directions (if applied) before exposing to water or frequent door use.
