Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground and open the door to be serviced.
- Carefully peel or pry out the old weatherstrip from the door frame and channel; use a plastic trim tool to avoid scratching paint.
- Remove old adhesive and debris from the channel using rubbing alcohol or adhesive cleaner and a clean cloth; allow surfaces to dry.
- Compare new seal to the old piece and test-fit the new weatherstrip into the channel to verify orientation and length.
- If adhesive is required, apply a thin bead of weatherstrip adhesive to the channel following the adhesive manufacturer’s directions.
- Lubricate the sealing surface lightly with soapy water or silicone lubricant to help seat the seal, then press the new weatherstrip firmly into the channel, ensuring any retaining beads or clips fully engage.
- Trim any excess material with a utility knife for a clean fit at the door corners.
- Close and open the door several times to work the seal into place; check for even compression and proper door alignment.
- Allow adhesive to cure if used (refer to adhesive instructions), and recheck for gaps, leaks, or rubbing. Repeat process for the opposite door.
