Instructions:
- Prepare the vehicle: park on a level surface and lower the window slightly to access the beltline area.
- Remove the old molding: carefully pry up the molding using a trim removal tool or protected screwdriver, releasing any clips or fasteners. Keep any reusable hardware.
- Clean the mounting surface: remove old adhesive, dirt, and corrosion using rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth. Ensure the surface is dry and smooth.
- Test-fit the new molding: position the left and right pieces along the beltline to verify alignment and locating points before final installation.
- Install retainers/clips or apply adhesive: fit new clips into the molding or apply appropriate trim adhesive/sealant per product instructions.
- Seat the molding: starting at one end, press the molding into place, engaging clips or fasteners. Use masking tape to hold sections if adhesive is used until cured.
- Secure hardware: reinstall any screws or fasteners and ensure the molding sits flush with the door edge and glass.
- Final check: lower and raise the window to confirm smooth operation and check for uniform gaps and fitment.
