Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface and roll the rear windows up and down to expose the molding channel as needed.
- Carefully pry off the old molding using a plastic trim tool; protect paint by working slowly and keeping metal tools wrapped or avoided where possible.
- Remove any broken clips or adhesive residue from the channel. Use pliers to extract old clips and rubbing alcohol to clean the mounting surface thoroughly.
- Test-fit the new left or right molding in the channel to confirm orientation and clip engagement before final installation.
- If the molding is stiff, warm it briefly with a heat gun or hair dryer on low to improve flexibility (keep heat moving and avoid overheating paint or trim).
- Align the molding to the channel and press firmly along its length so each clip snaps into place; listen for audible clicks to confirm secure engagement.
- Replace any damaged clips with new ones as needed, and wipe the area clean to remove fingerprints or residue.
- Operate the window to verify smooth movement and confirm the molding sits flush and creates a proper seal.
