Installation / Application:
- Difficulty: 2/5
- Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Instructions:
- Park the vehicle on a flat surface and gather tools. Work in a shaded area to prevent adhesives from curing too quickly.
- Carefully remove the old beltline molding by prying at the clip locations with a plastic trim tool; use a flathead screwdriver only where necessary and protect paint with masking tape.
- Once removed, clean the mounting surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove wax, grease, and adhesive residue. Allow to dry completely.
- Inspect the clip posts and channels. Replace any broken clips or use replacement retainers to ensure proper fitment.
- Dry-fit the new molding along the beltline to confirm alignment and clip engagement before final installation.
- If adhesive backing is used, apply adhesive promoter per product instructions. Warm the molding lightly with a heat gun or hair dryer to improve flexibility if needed.
- Starting at one end, press the molding into place, engaging each clip or pressing firmly along the adhesive backing. Use even pressure to seat the molding fully.
- Re-check the fit and trim any excess if applicable. Allow any adhesive to cure per manufacturer's recommendations before washing or driving extensively.
