Instructions:
- Park vehicle on a level surface, roll window fully up, and protect surrounding paint with masking tape.
- Warm the old molding with a heat gun or hair dryer if adhesive or sealant is present to ease removal.
- Carefully pry out the old molding using a trim removal tool or flathead screwdriver, removing any retaining clips or screws; retain fasteners if in good condition.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol to remove dirt, adhesive residue, and grease; allow to dry.
- Test-fit the replacement molding to confirm alignment and clip locations before final installation.
- If new clips or screws are required, install them on the molding per the molding’s clip pattern; align the molding with the beltline and press firmly to engage clips or hand-start screws.
- Tap gently with a rubber mallet if needed to seat the molding evenly, taking care not to dent the trim.
- Inspect the fit for uniform gaps and proper retention; reinstall any door components removed and clean the area.
- Allow any adhesive or sealant to cure per manufacturer instructions before washing or exposing to heavy weather.
